...has so far "completed" one mission: to figure out where a comparatively back water planet gets advanced tech. After a couple of false starts they figured out that there is a Top Secret military research facility hidden in a foggy swamp. They get there, find the facility (a 20-story high rise!) and proceeds to thrash the top floor, on the grounds that "that's where all the secret stuff always is".

Their employer was not particularly satisfied, so they are now looking for a job again....

Fredriksson might look cute and cuddly, but he is a lieutenant in BRINT, and close combat expert.

His most spectacular sucess so far is when he leaped, yelling like Xena, over a reception desk higher than himself and disarmed a belligerent clerk waving a sub-machine gun. His low point was when he attacked a guard from behind with his katana, and missed.

John has served 10 terms as a Explorer Astronaut, and during that time reached the rank of StarShipman 2nd class. In other words, he is not allowed to pilot anything bigger than an atmospheric shuttle. That he does with a skill only surpassed by his style and flair!

The lack of promotion is mostly due to an Attitude, and maybe to the fact that he sports a pilot's helmet clad in brown leather with a pair of ancient-style goggles affixed to the front and a long scarf. He also persists in putting a plush toy of a dog with a ridiculously large nose on the console of whatever he is piloting for the moment. He claims that it is a guardian angel for pilots since antiquity.

Charaak! (the exclamation mark is pronounced as a click sound) is an armsman through and through. Born on a low-gravity arid planet, he is not at home in humid climates. On the other hand, weightlessness is not a problem. After 15 tours in the Merchant Marine he has risen to Gunnery Officer/3, though he is just as proficient in repelling boarders as in shooting enemy craft to pieces. Taking prisoners is only an option if there is compelling logical reasons to do so, otherwise they are just an uneccessary burden.

Logic is everything for him; intuition he regards as superstition and empathy as a hinderance. If he comes to the conclusion that you are in the way for the successful completion of a mission, you will be so informed by a high-velocity bullet entering your brain....

Here we have the archetypal computer nerd. If it can be done with a computer, he can do it. If it is considered impossible, it will just take him a little while to figure it out. His greatest joy is finding a new comp. and analysing it down to the last instruction set. After finishing ten turns in the Survey Service he has reached the exalted status of Leading StarShipman (Engr.), and can usually be found deep in the bowels of the computer system.

He might seem a little reserved and soft spoken, but when he needs attention he usually gets it by firing his AutoMag in the air! (He has modified it himself to double the magazine capacity, with a slight increase in misfire probability.)
